Having joined Zayo recently to lead the customer success team, Leckwold brings 19 years of telecom industry experience at Verizon, where he filled a diverse set of leadership roles there across sales and operations, eventually running Verizon\u2019s global customer success program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Zayo, Leckwold\u2019s customer success philosophy is all about being proactive. \u201cWe\u2019re here, ready for our customers whenever they need us of course, but I like to stay ahead of the game by staying engaged through the entire lifecycle of a customer\u2019s journey,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-grid-column gb-grid-column-6b11e457\"><div class=\"gb-container gb-container-6b11e457\">\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"290\" height=\"277\" src=\"https:\/\/zayoustrans.burbledev.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/headshot-dj-leckwold.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1365\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DJ is particularly committed to empowering customer success specialists to work on behalf of their customers. Rather than acting as gatekeepers to the various support teams, they campaign for the customer, pulling in the resources necessary and monitoring their progress along the way to getting their desired result. As DJ says, \u201cthey are the ambassador for the customer. And that is a real differentiator in the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;They are the ambassador for the customer. And that is a real differentiator in the industry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One key to DJ\u2019s proactive support concept is in maintaining communication with the customer before an issue becomes a reason to reach out to the customer service team. This communication system is structured around what he calls triggers: time or event-based moments in a customer\u2019s journey when Zayo will check in.
