Congratulations are in order: As of June 14,\u00a0DISH is offering 5G broadband service to over 20 percent of the U.S. population<\/a>. This is an incredible milestone, and one with far-reaching benefits. Zayo is thrilled to see years of innovation and development come to fruition nationwide and proud to be part of the journey of this fellow Colorado-based company.<\/p>\n\n\n

Zayo\u2019s Partnership with DISH<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As a DISH partner, Zayo is working alongside the team in over 20 markets today and fully aligned with DISH\u2019s efforts to create the nation\u2019s first cloud-native, Open RAN 5G network. This will truly change the way the world communicates and power what\u2019s next, including disruptive technologies like smart cities, connected vehicles, edge computing, the future of web3 and blockchain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our partnership began in 2020,<\/a> when DISH first sought out fiber that was capable of meeting the bandwidth demands of 5G. Zayo has the largest independent fiber network in the U.S., including dense metro fiber and connected by long haul dark fiber. Our network includes more than 15 million fiber miles across the network in more than 400 metro markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve recently made investments in North America and Western Europe, including 400G-enabled long-haul routes. And like DISH, we too are interested in making history to best connect our customers- recently we completed the\u00a0world\u2019s longest known terrestrial 800G optical wavelength<\/a>\u00a0in a commercial network at 1,044.51 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
